We are often asked by missions teams, tourists,
visitors and friends if there is anything they can bring out
to us or send us in a care package. Thailand is a
quickly developing nation and offers all that we need for daily life,
but there are items from America that we do occasionally find ourselves dreaming
of.
Another common question is "What can I bring for the Akha?" Once again,
everything that the Akha need is available here (though some items can be difficult
or expensive to obtain) but there are very practical, well
received gifts which a visitor to an Akha village can (should?)
bring.
We are also providing a list of medical care consumables
that are difficult to find. Some of these are for our personal use as we travel
and live in Thailand, and some are to be given out in our informal
Akha
clinic.
Please feel free to contact us before you come out to Thailand. Often
there is a specific item or two that we have back in the States (books mostly)
that we would love to have carried out for us.
